Our History
Founded in 1994 by a small-businesswoman with healthcare experience, Progressive Home Care has remained a locally-owned, regional home healthcare provider throughout our history. Since our doors opened, we have been relentlessly focused on providing the highest quality of care to patients in their places of residence. Although ownership of Progressive changed in 2005, our core values remain unchanged: to dedicate ourselves to excellent patient care and to create a workplace where clinicians passionate about caring for patients can be successful.
From our beginnings in Auburn, we now serve patients residing in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado and Nevada Counties. Each year we care for thousands of patients recovering at home. Executive Biographies
Kent Weaver, CEO and Owner
Kent acquired Progressive in 2005 and has overseen a tremendous growth in the number of patients served. During that time, he has focused on creating a world-class clinical team in all service areas and expanded our regional presence to include Sacramento and El Dorado Counties. Kent is most proud of the high quality of personalized care that our clinicians provide for each patient every day of the year.
He has over 25 years of management experience in strategic planning, marketing and finance with companies such as Ernst & Young, PepsiCo and start-ups in Los Angeles and Northern California. Kent holds a BS in Finance from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA. He lives with his wife and four children in Placer County and enjoys exploring the natural wonders of this beautiful region.
Maureen Cody, Director of Nursing
Maureen has been with Progressive for XX years and has over xx years of experience in home healthcare. Maureen has been instrumental in building a strong clinical team at Progressive that is compassionate, knowledgeable and treats patients kindly with a sense of humor. Prior to Progressive, she also had xx years experience in hospitals providing critical care and with orthopedic and medical surgeries.
Maureen is a R.N. and holds a BS in Nursing from Humboldt State University. She also has certification through the US Dept of Health in Geriatric Nursing and a Certificate of Care for Spinal Injury. Maureen lives in the Sierra Foothills and has raised four grown children in this area.
Dinah Gibbs, Director of Rehabilitation Services
Dinah was Progressive’s first physical therapist when our doors opened in 1994. She has since developed the Rehabilitation staff to 36 clinicians and is proud of its reputation for clinical excellence. Dinah has over 40 years of direct clinical experience as an acute hospital inpatient therapist, outpatient therapist, home healthcare therapist and acute rehabilitation therapist. She also has managed and supervised clinical teams for over 15 years.
Dinah graduated at the top of her class from Loma Linda University and was named Physical Therapist of the Year by United Parkinsons Association. She is an equestrian enthusiast and takes advantage of this region’s lovely trails for horseback riding, cycling and hiking.
Else Lien, Nursing Supervisor
Elsa joined Progressive in 2008 and manages XXXXX. She has over 31 years of acute care, home healthcare nursing and consulting experience. Prior to Progressive, Elsa was an Administrator and DPCS for 18 years.
Elsa received her XX degree from XXXX University and holds an RN, PHN, MSN and CLNC. She was born in Cape Town, South Africa and lived in Denmark before settling with her family in Southern California. She lives in a log home in Grass Valley with her husband and cherishes spending time with her two grandsons.
Kathy Sundown, Nursing Supervisor
Kathy has been with Progressive since 2001 and is currently a nurse supervisor managing coordination of patient care. As a nurse in the field, Kathy gained the respect of many physicians in this region. Based on this direct field experience, she has developed education programs internally to transfer her skills and knowledge to instruct and train Progressive’s clinicians. Before Progressive Kathy worked for over 15 years in skilled nursing facilities and hospitals, including being a charge nurse of an oncology floor.
Kathy received her XX from XXX University and is a chemo-certified oncology nurse. She has lived in Nevada County for over 30 years and loves being outdoors and traveling.
